Cult Film, TV, Geek Art
Indie filmmakers Joseph Russitano and Mike Urtaza Jr. are setting out to remake the worst movie ever made into the best! Or at least better. Their goal is to take the original concept of Manos: The Hands of Fate, the cult classic b-movie famously riffed on by MST3K, and create a seriously good horror movie out of it.
As they explain on their website:
Hal Warren (the director of the original) didn’t wake up one day and think to himself “I want to make the worst movie ever made” and we think the best way to honor Manos is a straightforward horror movie as it was originally intended.
I really like this idea. With so many faux grindhouse and “bad on purpose” movies out there, which in opinion usually don’t work, it’s refreshing to see this go in the opposite direction.

They’ll be launching an IndieGoGo campaign on Feb 1st 2015 with a goal of $30,000. Check out their Facebook event page for more info on the fundraiser.
