Artists in the Crimson Daggers forum were challenged to reimagine the animated films of Hayao Miyazaki in a visual style that is not anime. Here is a selection of what they came up with.
The 1985 synthesized version. This one is the worst. It just sounds terrible in my opinion. Instead of an actual clip of the intro, I thought it might be more appropriate to show this cheesy Ricky Schroder tribute video that uses the song. I like how we spend the whole video speeding through a starfield. It makes it more exciting.
Here’s a collection of 60 images including behind the scenes photos and promotional material from the production of Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). I found many of these on Dennis Lowe’s website. He was one the film’s special effects technicians. I highly recommend checking out his site if you’re an Alien fan.
