Here’s a trailer and 5 minute clip from upcoming live action anime adaptation, Kite (2014), with an intro from Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson stars along with India Eisley (The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Underworld: Awakening) as Sawa and Callan McAuliffe (The Great Gatsby, I Am Number Four) as Oburi.

The film is based on the controversial Japanese anime OVA written and directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. The original anime version of Kite included extremely graphic violence and sex and has been banned in several countries.

Gareth Evans’ The Raid 2: Berendal premieres in January at Sundance, and will be released in the US on March 28, 2014.

The first movie, The Raid (2011), was fantastic, and this one looks just as awesome. It seems to have an old school John Woo vibe going for it. I can’t wait!
