‘Tis but a scratch!

“Who do you think’s in the burgers?” If you grew up watching Nickelodeon in the 1980s you know Barth, the disgusting cook played by Les Lye on YCDTOTV.

Willem (Age 10) and Miranda (Age 8) saw Jackie Chan introduce 1985s POLICE STORY in person followed by their first experience of Jackie tearing up Hong Kong in the name of crazy stunts and goofy comedy. Afterwards, they had a fair bit to say about just how crazy the man can be.

This lost Dragnet was made by MST3K’s Frank Conniff and Mr Show’s Mike Upchurch. They’ve messed with it by digitally adding a who’s who of alt-comedians: Tom Kenny (Mr. Show), Chris Fairbanks (TruTV), Johnny Pemberton (21 Jump Street, Kroll Show), Pat Healy (Ghost World), Josh Fadem (30 Rock). The result pretty convincingly changes the story into a dark tale of bad cops chasing Greenboy, the ringleader of a potent new strain of medical marijuana, Larry in the Sky with Diamonds.

Jaws’ Quint (played by Robert Shaw), the “original sideburned anti-hero”, escapes the belly of the shark with Wolverine-like mutant powers in this cover for the imagined comic book, The Mighty Quint #1.

Whenever I watch Jaws I am always struck by how dope Quint’s sideburns are. He really rocks the stuffing out of them. Always made me think of another famous fictional fella with killer burns – Wolverine! So I thought what if Quint was actually a mutant, had a healing factor and an adamantium skeleton with killer claws. He’d slash his way out Jaw’s belly, emerged from the blood reborn, ready to take the high seas by storm. I designed it as a comic book cover, an homage to Wolverine #1. At last – in his own monthly series!
